It's a title that won't be taken away from it: Strasbourg is the European capital of Christmas and rightfully so. But there's no need to venture all the way to Alsace to experience an Alsatian-style Christmas. From December 2 to 18, 2026, the Christmas market of Alsatian producers is making a stop in Paris, more precisely at Gare de l'Est, to showcase the very best of this region, both in terms of craftsmanship and gastronomy.

Paris's oldest Alsatian Christmas market

It's a tradition you simply wouldn't dare skip! For 44 years, the Alsatian producers' Christmas market has set up its stalls and delicious treats on the forecourt of Gare de l'Est for a few weeks, offering you a magnificent immersion into Alsatian traditions — and trust us, it's absolutely worth the detour!

On site, around fifteen local producers and craftspeople will showcase their specialties to Parisians, all under a heated marquee.

All of Alsatian culture represented at a single market

There will naturally be bredele — those little traditional Alsatian cookies — to taste to your heart's content, gingerbread, kougelhopf, sauerkraut (of course), wines, beers and spirits that are typically Alsatian, and many other specialties.

You'll find notably Jean Becker vineyard, Christiesgut farm-inn, Lucien Doriath foie gras, Fortwenger biscuiterie, Meyer distillery, and Perle brewery. Several tourist offices will also be present to showcase the beauty of this region.

In the meantime, if you're truly dreaming of an Alsatian getaway (which we totally understand), we're meeting you at Schmoutz to taste the best flambéed tarts in the capital, or in one of our many Alsatian restaurants in Paris !
