The Editor

You definitely remember that contestant with his beanie screwed on tight, capable of whipping up a dish of tripe and shellfish without batting an eye while we were trembling in front of our screens. Six years after his legendary finale, Adrien Cachot is coming back to Top Chef... but not quite how we expected.

A surprising comeback

M6's new programming chief, Florence Duhayot, has confirmed that the historic brigade leaders (Glenn Viel, Paul Pairet, Philippe Etchebest, Hélène Darroze and Stéphanie Le Quellec) will all be back for the 2027 season. But here's the twist: Adrien Cachot won't be replacing them, instead he'll get a custom-made role, designed to coach solo contestants. We love the idea: the guy who experienced the pressure of competition himself

the interior becomes the one who reassures others. A true symbol.

M6 didn't have to look far to bring this fresh touch to the mix: the chef had never really moved past this competition that made him a star anyway. Makes sense when you know his story: spotted in Paul Pairet's brigade, he caught attention right from the first challenge for his confident nonchalance, before establishing himself as one of

among the most striking candidates of season 11, all the way to the final against David Gallienne. He lost the final, but clearly not the match.

Since then, he's come a long way

Today at the helm of his restaurant Vaisseau in Paris, awarded a Michelin star in 2025, Adrien Cachot has nothing left to prove when it comes to cooking. His signature? A chef's cuisine that dares improbable combinations — offal, seafood and smoked chicory his way — and a dining room dressed in black as a tribute to painter Soulages, quite something.

The 2027 Season Lineup

A little bonus for the fans: the return of brigades is also confirmed, a format that was sorely missed last season, when contestants were pretty much left to fend for themselves. In short, a 2027 season that promises to be all about reunions and fresh excitement. That's all we know for now.

We can't wait until 2027, but we're already excited to see Adrien Cachot dishing out his advice (with total ease) to the new contestants. See you in 2027 to find out if the mentor is as talented as the contestant used to be!
