It's been a year now since the Notre-Dame Cathedral opened its doors with great fanfare, welcoming thousands of visitors every day. Whether it's tourists or Parisians, while they're thrilled by the monument, they might feel a bit disoriented by the amount of construction going on around it, which, let's be honest, does spoil the view a bit. However, the good news is that this project is for a great cause, and the surroundings of the cathedral will soon be transformed!
The future "most beautiful place in the world"

A park in the heart of Paris
In addition to the rearrangement of the roads near the monument, the city plans to transform the various gardens located around Notre-Dame, namely the squares of Île-de-France and Jean-XXIII. To this end, the tip of the island will…the City, where the first one is located, is set to undergo renovations starting in the first half of 2026. In total, no fewer than 160 trees are expected to be planted all around the cathedral, transforming the area into a true park.
