This Thursday, November 14, a dramatic scene unfolded at Nanterre-University station. An intervention by the security agents from the transport group reportedly went wrong, leading to a 19-year-old man falling onto the tracks as a train was entering the station.

For now, the details of the incident remain quite unclear. This Thursday afternoon, while a group of security and protection agents from the RATP networks was on duty, a 19-year-old young man, Yacine, found himself in urgent distress after being hit by a train from the RER A. An investigation has already been opened for "attempted murder."


A drama to clarify

But what happened on the platform of the RER A? At this moment, the sequence of events that led to the fall of this 19-year-old young man remains quite unclear. According to initial testimonies, the victim tried to intervene during an incident involving RATP agents before being pushed onto the tracks by a transport agency official, likely irritated by this behavior.

Struck by an RER train entering the station, Yacine was fortunately quickly taken care of by emergency services, in critical condition. While, at this time, his life is no longer in danger, the young man has still suffered from a fracture of both femurs, an avulsed heel, a punctured lung, and some head injuries.

An Ongoing Investigation

Just moments after the incident, which occurred around 2 PM, security officers arrived at the scene for a preliminary investigation, and a man was taken into custody at 2:45 PM. For now, we can't say for sure whether he is indeed a RATP agent or not.

Thanks to the many witnesses (because, as always, the RER A platform was packed), as well as the presence of numerous surveillance cameras, the details of this tragedy should be clarified as soon as possible, helping to advance the investigation. Jean Castex, president of RATP, has also requested that an internal investigation be conducted.
