Track renewals, upgraded electrical systems, new trains… The reasons for metro closures are endless. But whatever the reason, one thing is for sure, it's never a joy when you're trying to get home after a quick drink with colleagues or taking the metro on a Sunday to visit a little museum with friends. Unfortunately, this vacation doesn't seem all sunshine, as closures have been announced on a number of metro and RER lines. Hang in there to everyone whose whole family is coming to explore all of Paris.
Four metro lines particularly affected
On the metro side, even though some little hiccups are to be expected, we're happy to announce that this fortnight will be relatively calm, with 4 lines partially closed,ng> on relatively short durations. Well, let's be honest, we've automatically excluded the line 14, which is closed on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 10 PM, but it's become such a common occurrence that we figure it’s not even worth reminding you, since these hours have become the norm, rather than specific disruptions.
[#travaux] En raison de travaux la circulation sera interrompue sur la #ligne5, du 15 au 23 avril 2025 inclus, entre Bastille et Place d'Italie. La station Bastille sera le terminus provisoire. Un bus de substitution sera mis en place. #RATP

As for the rest, we’re heading towards lines 5, 6, 10, and 12, which won’t be faultless during this spring break. On the orange line, no trains will run from Tuesday, April 15 to Wednesday, April 23, 2025, making the last stop at Bastille. Over on line 6, there will be no service on April 26 and 27 between Charles de Gaulle-Étoile and Trocadéro. For line 10, there will be total service interruptions every evening from Monday to Thursday. And finally, we wrap up nicely with line 12, which will be closed between Concorde and Montparnasse on April 19 and 20, and the whole line will be out of service starting from 10 PM on April 27. In all cases, replacement buses will be available, but hey, that's not exactly great.
The RER: a whole different story
On the RER, it’s a whole different story, because 4 out of 5 lines shared by RATP and SNCF are in trouble (that’s the autonomous Paris transport authority and the national railway company, or as we like to call it, the “position of lateral safety” for those who aren’t as good with acronyms as we are). Let’s just say that this might not make everyone happy, since the RER A, B, C, and E are facing a ton of disruptions, which we’ve listed below for your convenience.
RER A, no trains:
- Between Maisons-Laffitte and Cergy-Le Haut starting at 10:15 PM until April 18th
- Between Maisons-Laffitte and Poissy starting at 10:15 PM on April 21st
- Between Sartrouville and Cergy-Le Haut / Poissy starting at 10:15 PM from April 22nd to 25th
RER B, no trains:
