The music resonates at the Pavilion, while different artists set up their corner dedicated to their creations. In the midst of this burst of fabrics and colors, Marilyne — Mary — is busy with the final preparations, radiating a calm energy. Until April 12, 2026, she’s making herself at home on Rue du Temple to showcase the clothing from her brand, Softhéra, alongside other creative minds, as part of a pop-up themed around memory.

On some pieces from this collection, designed and created for the occasion, she added a little plastic pouch where you can slip in a Polaroid photo. It's a gentle nod to our fast-paced, ultra-connected daily lives, which, paradoxically, makes us lose the sense of the preciousness of time and the moments we capture with our phones.
Fashion as a Family Story
Memories are exactly what she evokes from the very first moments of our conversation. Fashion has been a long-time passion, indeed, but for the 26-year-old woman, c&rsIt's above all a story of transmission : a legacy passed down by the seamstress women in her family. « I found it incredible that my mother could actually create what I had drawn on paper », she shares, reminiscing about her homemade figure skating gala outfits.

But before thread and needles, there were skates and ice. A high-level athlete, she chose to take her bow after fifteen years spent on the rinks. A carefully considered career change at a young age: « It was my whole life, but as I grew up, I couldn't see myself becoming a coach, watching younger ones potentially fail... I take things too personally for that. »
A brand that blends softness and strength, aesthetics and eco-responsibility
This sensitivity, combined with a strength and rigor inherited from the sports world, has been infused into her brand, created in 2022. Softhéra, a name &...Double reading, à its image : « soft », which evokes softness and emotion in English, and « Héra », a figure of femininity and sovereignty. A skirt that turns into a cape or a bag… Her "metamorphic" pieces reflect a personal vision of the fashion of the future, combined with a desire to tackle ecological issues and ethical consumption. She describes her creations as "horcruxes", each containing a fragment of her personality.
In her choice of materials — Vietnamese silk, water-repellent nylon, or upcycled fabrics — and cuts, she brings together her Franco-Vietnamese roots with her desire to create comfortable, technical pieces with meaning. "I’m like a slightly mad scientist," she smiles, yet always driven by "the message I want to convey".
Blending Fashion and Cinema
At Softhéra, every collection tells a story with its unique characters, colors, and emotions. « When you want to tell something, it's because you can feel it, even if you haven't personally experienced it. » A nearly cinematic process, for someone who is as passionate about fashion as they are about the seventh art.
In fact, she creates short films that accompany each collection. « I'm very much in my head; I visualize a lot », she confides. Her dream? To see her creations on the screens of movie theaters or worn by artists on the biggest stages. And, judging by the universe she's weaving, it's only a matter of time before that dream becomes a reality.
