It could be a real package of Barilla pasta, but the new accessory imagined by Nik Bentel is indeed a leather handbag. The artist, known for his satirical projects inspired by popular culture and rethinking everyday objects, came up with the idea for this pasta bag during the lockdown, while he was preparing yet another bowl of penne: why not also transform those pasta packages that pile up in the pantry?
« The bag is an irreverent version of the past year spent indoors, using the mundane objects we had during the pandemic and transforming them into something more exciting for the post-pandemic world. The purpose of the bag is to inspire some reflection on the possibility of creating something thrilling out of the ordinary », explains Nik Bentel on his website.
And it seems that the idea was well received: the hundred units of the bag, priced at just $200, sold out immediately. Let's adopt it.
