In this sunny afternoon of May, the light is shining on the shop window of Yōso - a rare sight considering how many tattoo studios in the capital and beyond opt for a dark, rock and noisy atmosphere. It makes you wonder if you're in the right place, and yet Yōso proudly displays white walls and a zen space, all because Yoshika, an experienced tattoo artist, and Caroline, were searching for peace and serenity not only for themselves but also for their fellow tattoo artists and clients. They opened this studio, located between the Buttes-Chaumont park and the Canal de l'Ourcq, 8 years ago with the core values of talent, professionalism, attentiveness, mutual support, and kindness. "We started with 6 tattoo artists and now we have a team of 10 resident artists, 4 cowork'ink spaces, and 2 guest spaces. Everyone is independent within the studio and has their own artistic style, but above all, we are all part of a community," they say.The multitasking and managing Caroline underline. We have long thought about a system that allows us to support each other and that is fair to everyone. Maintaining independence while going further together! Well-being at work is important, and it shows. Pastries are sitting on the table, plants bring a calming feeling, and many clients push the door of the studio for a first tattoo because "here, we feel comfortable". And they are always well received, with a first appointment first with the artist whose universe fits, to get to know each other, exchange tastes, desires, and answer questions. The designs are exclusively creations, allowing for a stronger connection between the tattoo artist and the person being tattooed, and of course, a unique mark on the skin! As for the session itself, it takes place in one of the booths in the shop or in its adjoining little sister, Shimai, to respect privacy.te et plus de tranquillité. Bref, on s'y sent bien.
