The unique history of this historic building
As the newspaper explains, this ten-story building was built between 1903 and 1905 by architects Auguste and Gustave Perret. It is classified under the additional inventory of Historic Monuments for being the first building designed with a concrete structure and ceramic cladding: this modern technique allowed to bypass the traditional masonry construction, which was unsuitable here due to the narrowness of the plot.
