It’s no secret anymore, but our daily consumption has become a real challenge for the planet, whether it’s about modes of transportation, clothing, or, of course, food. Many people are working hard to offer us local alternatives that are more ecological and better for everyone. The latest? A huge urban farm set up on the roof of the Arcades in Noisy-le-Grand.


Growing in the heart of the city

This brand new initiative, named My Salad at Roof, is based on a relatively simple concept: to combine environmentally friendly vegetable farming, inspired notably by the principles of permaculture, with smart resource management. To achieve this, practices such as setting up...

of a compost, the use of organic fertilizers and the recovery of biowaste are in the spotlight.

This vast urban farm, covering several thousand square meters, features a greenhouse of about 800m² along with large open-air growing spaces, which are expected to eventually produce 9 tons of fruits and vegetables each year. These will be organic products, intended to be used in the restaurant's kitchens, also on the roof, and to provide meals for nearby businesses.


An Educational Mission

Beyond food production and restaurant offerings, this new space aims to become a pedagogical hub. A area for meeting and raising awareness open to the public. Workshops, guided tours, lectures, and events are expected to be regularly organized to address various themes.
