It’s official, May will be filled with music and movement at La Seine Musicale. Insulab, the collective for 16-28 year-olds from the famous performance venue in the Paris area, is back with two dance events: a show and a participatory workshop. Blending urban dances with the world of opera, this program invites participants to take a fresh look at classical music and step into the shoes of an artist for a few hours.

A show where the baroque meets our era
Alongside Bintou Dembélé, a major figure in hip-hop in France, participants will experience an exciting time in May. First, they can attend the performance Les Indes Galantes on May 21 at 7:30 PM at La Seine Musicale. This performance is intended to be absolutely moving, combining the great opera-ballet by Rameau from 1735 with contemporary choreography. A unique dialogue between two opposing worlds.

Get started with krump and hip-hop with professional dancers
On May 24, Meech — a dancer in the show — and Emmanuelle Simon — a dancer and choreographer — will offer a 1.5-hour introduction to krump and hip-hop, dances widely featured in Les Indes Galantes. Krump is particularly deep and intense; it's a discipline of transforming rage that invites you to reconnect with yourself and your emotions. It’s a unique opportunity to experience the show seen just a few days earlier through your own body. No prior dance experience is required to join in the fun! What makes Insulab events special is that they are offered to everyone.Ticket price : 12€ for the show and the dance workshop. However, seats are limited, so don't wait to reserve yours!
