Well, we’d like to let you know right away that this hike starting from the capital might not be suitable for everyone. Indeed, it offers you about 4 hours of wandering (and around 15.6 km) to discover Val-de-Marne and Seine-Saint-Denis. But trust us, it's really worth it as it dazzles us with its richness. And to enjoy it, you don’t need to travel for hours, since it starts from... Saint-Mandé, on the line 1 !
A bit of history and greenery
To kick off this little adventure, head between Paris and Vincennes, which will be your first destination. After a little detour to Saint-Louis Church, m&...known yet absolutely remarkable, we leave Saint-Mandé and continue our journey to the historic heart of Vincennes. Here, we enjoy the facades of Belle Époque buildings, the neo-Renaissance town hall, and above all, the incredible castle with its rich and complex history.

Next, head to nature with a lovely walk through the Vincennes woods, which takes us all the way to Nogent-sur-Marne (and for those who prefer to take it easy, you can skip the green space and take the RER for two stations). Once there, we discover the Pavillon Baltard, the only survivor of the old central halls of Paris. Then we continue our journey towards the Marne, to enjoy its freshness and especially its historic guinguettes. We follow the river up to Bry-sur-Marne, where we quickly cross over to reach Noisy-le-Grand, the highlight of the trip.

A Journey Between the 1st and 7th Art
We dive into the second half of our adventure with a first stop that might ring a bell. Many will say, “Wow, it feels like we're in a movie!” And for good reason, the Abraxas space, featuring astonishingly tall circular buildings, has hosted some film shoots, including Brazil, Big Bug, and of course, the fourth installment of the Hunger Games saga. This unique creation is the work of architect Ricardo Bofill, who also designed the impressive Arcades of the Lake in Montigny-le-Bretonneux!

To wrap things up, we’ll continue on our path, all the way to the Picasso Arenas. "Sun," "camembert," "big wheel"—everyone has come up with their own little name to describe this amazing structure. Two cylindrical buildings rise majestically on either side of Pablo Picasso Square, supported by stunning concrete buttresses. The entire place creates a truly unique ensemble in the world, which, trust us, not only deserves a detour but will also make you feel tiny. We’re heading towards the Noisy-le-Grand-Mont d'Est station on the RER A, to return to the capital!
