Classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2001, the city of Provins invites you, like every year, to take part in a unique event. For two extraordinary summer evenings, the medieval city transforms itself into a city of light, to transport you through the ages with the simple glow of candles. And one thing is for sure, you won't be disappointed by the journey.
A Thousand and One Candles
A true medieval gem, Provins shines throughout France thanks to its extraordinary activities and animations, which bring the city to life all year round. And, just like every summer, the grand return of one of its highlights is here: "The Glimmers of Time." During 2 evenings in July and August, the city undergoes a stunning transformation with the help of an abundance of candles...> spectacles, animations, and especially, pyrotechnic activities.
Indeed, on July 4th and August 1st, the César Tower, dating back to the 12th century, will sparkle with the glow of more than 700 candles. A truly magical show that you can enjoy to the sound of live period music. On July 4th, it will be Lucie who enchants you with her handpan and double bass. In August, it's Gaïa with her harp who will bring the Guards' Hall to life.

To stay on the theme of flames, you can also enjoy this year once again a breathtaking equestrian show: Crins de Feu. Fire horses will parade in the moats of the city’s ramparts, enchanting you with acrobatics and stunts. A show that will dazzle both young and old, in every sense of the word.
Dozens of activities
In addition to these evening activities, The Glimmers of Time, also offers animations (some of which are free) throughout the day. At the Châtel square, enjoy horn hunting bands, musical animations around jazz and juggling performances with torches!
Free gifts from « Les R’Mon Temps » are waiting for you! On top of that, there are themed and theatrical visits and romantic strolls in the rose garden, so there's something for everyone! Just a heads up, while some activities are free and open to all, others require reservation, and you might need to pay a few euros. But trust us, it's not that expensive (just €16 per person for the most pricy activity), and it’s totally worth it!Pour celles et ceux qui ne connaissent pas Provins, cite médiévale dans le sud 77, à la lueur du temps, hier soir, plaisir de partager 😘
