The tallest free-fall tower in Europe is located on the outskirts of Paris

Attention thrill-seekers, we've found one of the craziest new attractions in the Old Continent. And the cherry on top? It's just a quick metro ride away, as it's currently a stone's throw from the capital, in the Bois de Vincennes. But be careful, you've got to have a strong heart!

A few days ago, the Foire du Trône, the biggest funfair in Paris, once again opened its doors on the Reuilly lawn, unveiling a brand new attraction: the « Mega King Tower ». An immense tower where a cabin ascends and then is released into the void at full speed. A true steel monster, it stands out not only for the thrills it offers but also because of its giant European stature.


The Foire du Trône, an unmissable event for over 1000 years

Few people know this, but not only is it the largest funfair in the country, but the Foire du Trône is also the oldest. And for good reason, as it was created in the year 957, which means over 1060 years ago! Back then, it was established by the Saint-Antoine abbey, which used it to sell its gingerbread during Holy Week.

Even though it expanded more and more, especially in the early 19th century, we had to wait until 1964 for it to relocate to the lawn of Reuilly in the Bois de Vincennes, where it has happily remained ever since. Today...Today, this must-attend event of April and May for families features over 250 attractions, including a little newcomer that’s sure to make waves.


What Matters is the Drop

This year, for the first time in France, discover the Mega King Tower, a steel tower with a height of no less than 80 meters, making it the tallest transportable free-fall tower in Europe. The concept is simple and will remind thrill-seekers of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disneyland (with 25 more meters of height here)! You’ll experience a few seconds of ascent to the top, before being, as the name suggests, dropped into the void. And one thing is for sure, your eyes are in for a treat, since the gondola plummets at a whopping... 140 km/h! To hop on the gondola, you absolutely must be taller than 1.30 meters and, most importantly, be mentally prepared for this adventure!I'll be waiting for you. But just for the extraordinary view that the few seconds of calm at the top offer us, we're ready to take on the experience!
