It's the spring event you wouldn't want to miss for anything in the world. In Seine-Saint-Denis, during the weekend of April 18th and 19th, the new edition of the Tulip Festival promises us two colorful days filled with activities, workshops, concerts, performances, and blooming gardens. 

The birds are singing, the plants are budding, and the sun is starting to make more frequent and longer appearances. No doubt about it, spring is definitely peeking its head out – much to our delight! And just like every year, to celebrate the arrival of the most colorful season on the calendar, the city of Saint-Denis invites us to a public festival, its traditional Tulip Festival. Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, for a fun and cultural weekend! 


Between tulips and street performances

The park of the Legion of Honor, a large green space just a hop away from the Basilica of Saint-Denis, transforms into a true Dutch tulip field. For this occasion, the city's gardeners are planting thousands of flowers, dressing the park's pathways in vibrant colors and setting the scene for this festive weekend.

For the Tulip Festival, various areas of the park welcome us with a variety of live shows in a carnival style, from juggling to puppetry, along with acrobatics, theater, storytelling, and dance. The program features a mix of local artists and national companies, offering shows that will delight both little ones and grown-ups. It's all sprinkled with brass bands, parades, free concerts, and lovely strolls among blooming tulips. 


Celebrating Nature

Prefer to be in nature? You can enjoy a guided walk on Saturday between Pierrefitte-sur-Seine and the Parc de la Légion d’Honneur, to (re)discover the area on foot, blending heritage and nature, or savor a picnic in the heart of the park, after stocking up at one of the food trucks offering local products and specialties. 

Because in addition to its festivities, the Tulip Festival aims to bring a true civic and environmental dimension. To achieve this, you'll find a community village with many local actors and free workshops. You can create your own eco-friendly watercolor palette, try your hand at screen printing, or even join in activities about biodiversity and urban agriculture, like learning how to make your own herbarium.
