For major problems, big solutions. In recent days, a scorching sun has hit the capital, bringing with it an unprecedented heatwave. To cope with this heatwave, any means is good. While some dive headfirst into the Saint-Martin Canal (and rightly so), we propose an alternative that will delight both nature lovers and aquaphobics. Head towards the Peuple de l’Herbe departmental park, aka the largest natural park in Yvelines.

A true Eden garden at the gates of Paris

Just a few minutes from the Poissy train station (accessible directly via the RER A), you’ll find this gem of greenery like no other, nestled away from prying eyes. The program includes a sp...more than 110 hectares located along the banks of the Seine, designed as a true ecosystem in itself. In this place connected to nature, linked by dozens of walking paths, meadows, and even two stunning artificial ponds, you'll have the chance to admire around 150 animal species and over 200 plant species, living in perfect harmony.

A plethora of activities

In addition to a breathtaking green space, the Parc du Peuple de l’Herbe offers a whole bunch of activities that will ensure you have a great time. Soccer, basketball, or pétanque courts, picnic areas, a bike path (a stunning loop of no less than 500 km), fishing spots, a hiking trail, themed walks—everything is in place to allow everyone to enjoy this extraordinary place. And there's even a bug house of over 800 m² where you can observe all sorts of species in their natural habitat like never before. Special mention goes to the butterfly aviary, a truly magical spot!
