Imagine a swimming pool straight out of a sci-fi movie : a rotating yellow dome, portholes, and a pool that opens up to the outside. This unique setting is waiting for you at the Raymond-Mulinghausen pool, in the town of Les Lilas, in Seine-Saint-Denis. Designed in the 70s by Bernard Schoeller, a renowned architect who created the Tournesol model, it combines cutting-edge design, a stylish shelter in winter, and an open-air pool in summer. And here's the cherry on top: it's just a metro or bus ride away from Paris!

Gentle prices for young ones

The Mulinghausen pool stands out with its spectacular 35-meter diameter dome, made of wide metal arches and translucent panels. In the summer, the roof rotates up to 120°, revealing the pool and its little beach, both bathed in light. This dome, which has UFO-like vibes with its rounded portholes and pumpkin silhouette, embodies the architectural boldness of the 70s. As a result, you can enjoy swimming under the sun while also having a covered area when the weather gets a bit moody.

As part of the “Pools for 1 €” initiative launched by Est Ensemble - which allows 11 pools in the Seine-Saint-Denis department to offer reduced prices - admission is set at a delightful only 1 € for ages 4 to 18.

Residents living in the community (which includes Bagnolet, Bobigny, Bondy, les Lilas, Le Pré Saint-Gervais, Montreuil, Noisy-le-Sec, Pantin, and Romainville) until August 31. This initiative makes water activities, often expensive, more accessible for modest families. And adults aren't forgotten either: the entry remains very affordable for them too, at around 3 € (full price: 3.70 €, reduced price: 2.30 €). Unbeatable prices to cool off without breaking the bank.

A nearby pool to splash around and workout

To get to Les Lilas, you can hop on the metro line 11, take several buses, ride your bicycle, or drive your car ; those lucky ones will enjoy plenty of parking spots available nearby. Want to learn how to swim, become a pro, or get your muscles working in the water? Great news: in addition to its sleek aesthetic, the pool offers a swimming school and aqua aerobics classes. A refreshing haven to dive into all summer long, except on Mondays and Sundays, with generous hours extending to 8 PM on Wednesdays. Just a friendly reminder: swim caps are mandatory!

You got it: between its stunning dome that opens to the sky and its affordable prices for all...

With the family and its ideal location, the Mulinghausen pool has everything it needs to become the must-visit spot of your summer. So, are you ready to take the plunge?
