This weekend, Mantes-la-Jolie is putting on its finest period attire to celebrate one of the oldest fairs in France. The city center is adorned with colorful banners, shimmering armor, and ancient instruments for the Great Medieval Fair, a free event that immerses locals and visitors alike in the festive atmosphere of the Middle Ages.
The Brieussel-Bourgeois Square, Saint-Maclou Square, and Gambetta Street transform into the heart of this timeless celebration, where artisans of old and costumed companies bring back to life forgotten crafts, music, and skills. Weaving, baking, glassblowing, tanning, or farming: the artisan market promises to be as delightful as it is exotic.
