This new guinguette in Fontainebleau is going to elevate your summer!

The Editor

After six editions under the name L’Éphémère, a spot that has become iconic in Fontainebleau, dreamed up during the health crisis by Alexandre Halbardier and Brice Sireix, a whole new chapter is beginning in the very same plaza.  But that’s also what ephemeral places  are about: they make way for new stories. And the one that’s opening up this season is called L’Orangerie. The name? Not at all coincidental: it directly pays homage to the orange garden of the Château de Fontainebleau, this lovely spot for walks and relaxation cherished by the royal court for centuries. A charming historical nod for a place that aims to be rooted in its territory.

The Good Hands Behind the Project

At the helm of L’Orangerie are not strangers to the Bellefontaine scene: Enguerrand Le Cocq and Quentin Hubert, the two partners behind Adma, the bistronomic restaurant in Fontainebleau that has been delighting us for a while with its Mediterranean flavors, carefully sourced ingredients, and a dedication to homemade fare. Their ambition for L’Orangerie is to translate this DNA under the summer sky. Translation: real cooking, genuine care, in a festive and relaxed atmosphere. It’s exactly what we were expecting.

A program designed for those long summer evenings

L’Orangerie is more than just a bar where you can sip a drink while gazing at the stars (although that alone is already a fantastic reason to visit). The project aims to be a true intergenerational gathering place, open from Monday to Sunday from May to September, featuring a lineup crafted to brighten up every evening of the beautiful season.

A dedicated stage will host artists throughout the summer, with live concerts scheduled every Saturday night. Tastings, themed evenings, various activities – the calendar is looking deliciously full!

On the Plate and in the Glass

When it comes to food, we find Adma's touch: tapas crafted right in the kitchen, made with local products, homemade goodness, and vegan options on the menu. A selection of refined cheeses and quality charcuterie is also on the table because a good drink deserves a nice platter by its side, right? To drink, the menu features organic and natural wines, a house beer from L'Orangerie, homemade orangeades for the non-drinkers, and alcohol-free cocktails. It’s a menu designed for everyone, from teens to parents, locals to Parisians on a getaway.

The setting, the real highlight

Set on the plaza of the municipal theater in Fontainebleau, just a few minutes' walk from the castle, L'Orangerie boasts a prime location right in the heart of the city, in a delightful open-air setting. Surrounding it are monuments, charm, and the special ambiance of a town that knows how to blend royal history with vibrant local life. It’s the kind of place where an evening planned for two hours effortlessly turns into an entire night.
