Concert by Taylor Swift, évents for the Olympics, an expanded Christmas village: nothing is too beautiful or too ambitious to help revitalize La Défense (Hauts-de-Seine). The neighborhood is tired of being neglected and wants to refresh itself as the year-end festivities approach: from Thursday, November 14 to December 29, nearly 250 chalets and tents (compared to 200 last year) are set up on the esplanade of La Défense, forming the 29th edition of a Christmas market that spans more than one hectare… making it the largest in Île-de-France.

A series of animations for young and old
The goal of the organizers: to make stays last longer in La Défense. To ensure visitors aren’t just passing through, they’ve set up a series of activities themed around Christmas and celebration, along with stunning decorations to delight the eyes. Among these, there’s a beautiful hot air balloon installed beneath the Arch, a 12-meter tall Christmas tree complete with animations, and two large carousels for the children.

But the big exciting news for 2024 is, of course, the shiny new Christmas ice rink! Located at the foot of the Grande Arche, this 450 m² natural ice rink is sure to delight any skating enthusiast. Open from Friday, November 22 to January 5, 2025, it will be available for a price of around 10€ – gloves are a must ! –, it's the perfect spot to show off your best spins to your friends. Or at least to give it a try.
