You know the saying: in May, do what pleases you. And what pleases us is knowing that the European Night of Museums is fast approaching. On Saturday, May 23, 2026, museums in Paris, France, and across Europe will open their doors for free to the public for an extended night of fun. Among them, the National Museum of Asian Arts - Guimet will welcome you to explore its permanent and temporary exhibitions, and also to celebrate the Lantern Festival.

A performance deeply rooted in Korean tradition
The show is set for three times in the evening: 7 PM, 8 PM, and 9 PM. These performances by the Korean company Baru, lasting 20 minutes each, will take place in the Khmer courtyard of the museum. At the crossroads of shamanic and Buddhist traditions, this dance-focused show will be accompanied by beautiful paper lanterns faithful to Korean tradition, creating a poetic and intimate atmosphere for the performance. Each person on stage — the monk Subeom and two dancers — holds a heritage or a ritual linked to a region of Korea.
Events and visits throughout the evening
In addition to the Lantern Festival, the Guimet Museum will offer visitors a literary meeting with Hervé Péjaudier, focusing on the theme of Korean shamanism. Throughout the evening, from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM, guided tours will be available to help you discover the Guimet House and its garden, a remarkable place that showcases the elegance and prestige of Asian arts. For visitors who prefer to stroll freely, they can enjoy the temporary exhibitions dedicated to K-Beauty or the one titled Silla: Gold and the Sacred.
