Get ready to feel the rhythm of the wind! For over 30 years, this must-see event in Nouvelle-Aquitaine has transformed the stunning beach of Châtelaillon-Plage (near La Rochelle) into a real open-air theater. For its 32nd edition, the first European festival dedicated to wind disciplines promises a show that is as poetic as it is spectacular.

A giant ballet that brings crowds together

Every year, hundreds of thousands of spectators gather to celebrate the arrival of beautiful days in a festive and contemplative atmosphere. For this 32nd edition, more than 300 participants are expected: kite flyers, kitesurfers, and experienced athletes coming from all over the world.

Among them are some talents that push the limits of the sky. Like Victor Guérithault, an artist trained at the Beaux-Arts in Rennes, who envisions modular kites printed in 3D with his project KitesLab. Or Richard Debray, a craftsman based in Pornic, whose acrobatic creations cater to the global elite.

When the wind becomes a work of art

Here, kites go far beyond mere leisure. Between monumental kites, aerial ballets, contemporary creations, and technical demonstrations, the spectacle is total (and free!). It’s an intergenerational event where every flight tells a story, blending artistic gesture with mastery of the wind.

When it comes to formats, there’s something for everyone: from impressive XXL structures stretching several dozen meters long, to fascinating spinning spheres and bowls with hypnotic effects, not to mention the traditional Japanese rokkaku with six sides. These creations turn the sky into a living art gallery.
