Nestled between Parc Monceau and Batignolles, right in the heart of Rue Legendre, a 10,000 m2 living space has just opened its doors. I named it La Fondation, the new spot that dazzles us with a lineup including a 5-star hotel, two restaurants, a panoramic rooftop, an office space with hanging gardens, a sports club featuring a climbing wall, a semi-Olympic swimming pool, and so much more. Let’s take a look at this one-of-a-kind place!
An architectural gem by Roman & Williams
Behind the bold facade of La Fondation, at the intersection of wood, black metal, and large bay windows, lies a 10,000 m2 jewel conceived by Robin Standefer and Stephen Alesch, the stars of the New York studio Roman & Williams. The duo brings here a vibe that is both industrial and botanical, raw and poetic. It’s even quite brutalist, featuring a concrete spiral ramp that winds like a snake...
arts of an old parking lot. All with a distinctly vibrant touch, featuring green walls, lush terraces, hanging gardens… In short, a true haven of peace right in the heart of Paris, somewhat eco-friendly and ultra-desirable.
Plates that do good and a breathtaking panoramic view
The Foundation is also a dream destination for food lovers, with two restaurants and a rooftop brought to life by the talents of Chef Thomas Rossi. On the ground floor, brasserie Base opens its arms wide with a sidewalk terrace and a fresh and local menu. Here, French culinary classics are reimagined using organic, seasonal ingredients, ranging from beef tartare with preserved egg yolks and brioche to crispy poultry with supreme sauce, not to mention the Roscoff onion tatin with raw cream and thyme.

Next, we head up to the 8th floor for a bistronomic atmosphere at the second restaurant on site. What’s in store? A breathtaking view, a chic and stylish décor, and a cozy terrace (heated in winter by a fireplace). And for the night owls, meet us on the 10th at the rooftop with a panoramic view of all of Paris, from the Eiffel Tower to Sacré-Cœur, to sip signature cocktails, share some delicious small plates, and gather around the big brazier. These two spaces aren’t open just yet, but don’t worry, Bonbecs, it won’t be long! La Fondation is soon to be the hot spot for all the foodies in the capital.
Sports, spa, and fresh juices: the urban paradise of self-care
Looking to work up a sweat or unwind? La Fondation has it all covered. Its brand new sports club – open to guests staying in the 5-star hotel.s (58 rooms including 3 suites) just like the subscribers – lined up are high-tech amenities, plenty of varied classes (dancing, Pilates, yoga, boxing…), a state-of-the-art fitness and cardio room, and the highlight of the show, a 9-meter climbing wall under a large, bright glass roof.
Next up is the wellness area, featuring a semi-Olympic pool (25 meters), two hammams, two saunas, and a cocoon spa where you can enjoy premium treatments curated by two French providers: Typology and Ho Karan. And to finish off beautifully? A little detour to the juice bar for a multivitamin shot. Cheers to health!
