Here it is, the heatwave is definitely back in the capital, and we can only think of one thing: finding spots to cool off at all costs. Luckily, while we have to wait until July 4th to take a dip in the Seine, other swimming areas are already welcoming us with open arms (or nearly!).

It's a fact, Parisians are never happy. In the autumn, the sky is too gray, in winter, it's too cold, in spring, it rains too much, and in the summer, which should meet all their weather demands, the sky is too blue, and the weather is too hot and dry. So, to avoid complaints all around, we found the perfect solution: swimming. And good news, Île-de-France is full of spots where you can splash around joyfully and happily. This week, we invite you to discover the swimming area of Joinville-le-Pont, which, by a crazy coincidence, opens its doors this Saturday, June 20.


A little slice of paradise

It’s official, the swimming area of Joinville-le-Pont is back for a new season, starting this Saturday, June 20, and until August 31. Accessible in just a short ride...

Just a few minutes by RER A from Paris, at the gates of the Bois de Vincennes, you'll find everything you need to enjoy a wonderful time without suffering from the heat or the sun. In this historic cradle of guinguettes along the banks of the Marne, you can take pleasure in two supervised pools — one for adults and the other for children — as well as a zone of free accessible deck chairs depending on availability. Even better, for the first year, the water in the pools will be filtered to ensure the healthiest water possible (and trust us, it’s definitely better than the Seine).


Everyone to the Water

To access this paradise oasis, you can book your spot starting from 4 days in advance, and it will cost you 8€ per person (only 3€ if you live in Joinville), and it's free for children under 4 years old. However, good news! On June 20th, for the opening, the place invites you to join a festive open house day that's free starting at 4 PM, and until the end of the day! And if, with such an attraction, spots are filling up quickly, don’t panic! The beaches at Maison-Alfort — also a part of A la Plage by Paris Est Marne & Bois — and Saint-Maur-des-Fossés will open on the same day. With all these options, you have plenty of choices to practice your synchronized swimming routines !
