Here we are: the delightful summer announcements are back, and among them is the exciting news of outdoor cinemas returning to Paris! The Cinéma Paradiso — organized by the museum and mk2 — is coming back for its sixth edition, from July 1st to July 4th, 2026. The event is free and accessible through an online lottery. An edition with Joachim Trier present
Grab a seat in the deck chairs and enjoy the biggest films projected on the big screen at the Louvre as night falls. For this edition, we are thrilled to have the director Joachim Trier in the spotlight. He won the Oscar for Best International Feature Film for Sentimental Value. In fact, his hugely successful feature film Julie (in 12 chapters) will be part of the Cinema Paradiso lineup, with the director present.

Between Cinema and Gastronomy
What about the other films being screened? For now, the mystery remains. We'll have to wait for the lottery openings to find out the full schedule. Each screening will be preceded by a presentation by journalist Lily Bloom. Various food trucks will be available on site to combine the seventh art with delicious treats. After the Louvre, Cinema Paradiso will head towards La Seine Musicale from July 21 to 24, 2026, featuring a cinema club blending film, DJ sets, and concerts. Let’s just say we can’t wait to enjoy those outdoor cinemas!
