Movie lovers, why not embark on a fabulous journey into the world of film? At the beginning of July, the Monnaie de Paris invites you for four unique evenings under the beautiful stars, a chance to (re)discover some classics of cinema, both French and international, including some inspired by the world of comics currently featured in the museum. Enjoy exclusive outdoor screenings just steps away from the Seine, for a truly unique moment.
A program that's just perfect
Every evening, from July 1st to 4th starting at 6 PM, musical performances and food trucks will be waiting for you in the museum courtyard, setting the mood for the best experience before the screening. To kick off the festivities, you will also have free access to the exhibition CLING between 6 PM and 8:45 PM.
A dive into the thrilling adventures of the heroes from our childhood or the delightful antics of those we discovered later, to take a fresh look at money and our relationship with it.Voir cette publication sur Instagram
Then at 9:30 PM, the curtain rises, it's time to settle into one of the comfy deck chairs set up in the courtyard for the occasion, prepare your popcorn, and maybe put on a little sweater if you get chilly, before enjoying one of the four films on the program. These feature films will, each in their own way, pay tribute to comic book heroes or characters that might seem like they stepped right out of a work by Franquin or Goscinny.
Must-see screenings
To stay within the world of comics, we kick off on July 1st with a screening of the adaptation of Persepolis, by Marjane Satrapi. It's a chance to pay tribute to this incredible cartoonist who left us a while ago.
In a few days, we'll have the chance to rediscover this magnificent work. The next day, we'll dive into Howl's Moving Castle by Hayao Miyazaki, undoubtedly our favorite Studio Ghibli at the office. On July 3rd, Jean Dujardin will light up the screen in the first installment of OSS 117. And to wrap up these four lovely evenings, we'll be bringing it back to comics with the screening of one of the most classic adaptations of the 2000s: Asterix and Obelix: Mission Cleopatra. And the cherry on top, in pre-sale, all these screenings will be accessible for the modest sum of €6 (and €8 for full price, which is still quite reasonable). So, what are we going to see?Voir cette publication sur Instagram
