In the 13th, there are temporary outdoor libraries and those meant to last a bit longer. On July 4th, this Parisian district welcomed the Virginia Woolf Media Library, the 68th library in the capital. Filled with literature, events, and gatherings, this space stands out as the new cultural hotspot aimed at revitalizing the neighborhood.

Free Borrowable Books

Just a stone's throw from the Kellermann Park, in the southern part of the Maison-Blanche neighborhood, the new Virginia Woolf media library has been established. Spanning 1,000 square meters, it offers an impressive collection of 35,000 documents available for borrowing. Books, audiobooks, newspaper titles, board games, video games, e-readers… Many items can be accessed for free. If you want to add CDs to your collection, it will cost you €30.50 per year, and borrowing CDs and DVDs will come to €61. Among the collections offered, both adults and children can find suitable works.

Between animation and work spaces

This new space also aims to host a variety of activities. A specially designed area of 100 square meters has been created to organize conferences, rehearsals, exhibitions, and more, and it can be made available to various local cultural organizations. Workshops on media and information education, led by the library’s specialists, are also organized. For students, a calm work space of 100 square meters can accommodate up to 50 seated people.
