Summer is coming, the warm days are gradually increasing, and all we want to do is soak up the sun by a nice body of water where we can take a dip to cool off every now and then. The Parisian pools are definitely a good choice, but they can quickly get crowded and filled with people. The Seine? That’s a possible alternative. And if not, just outside of Paris, in Neuilly-sur-Marne, a new natural swimming area will be open to the public from July 4th until August 30th, 2026.

Great news: it will be accessible for free and with supervision. Around you, enjoy a lush environment that will take you away from the hustle and bustle. Just a reminder, swimming in natural bodies of water is prohibited, except in authorized areas where it is supervised. Opening hours will vary based on the weather.

8 Swimming Spots in the Greater Paris Metropolis
This new swimming site in Seine-Saint-Denis adds to those located in Val-de-Marne (Joinville-le-Pont, Champigny-sur-Marne, Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, Maisons-Alfort) and à Paris (Grenelle arm in the 14th, Louis-Philippe in the 4th, and Bercy in the 12th for the Seine). Eight other swimming spots can be found in the Parisian canals. These different locations represent a direct legacy of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, during which swimming events were held in the Seine.
