Prints hanging on the walls, cameras on display, film in the fridge, a bright yellow Kodak neon that immediately catches your eye… There’s no doubt, when you step through the door of The Analog Club, you’ve arrived at the new Parisian temple of film photography. Within these cream-colored walls, there’s undeniably a minimalist and slightly retro atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. “We gradually find our bearings,” adds Léopold, one of the shop's founders, as he gives us a tour of the shop.

Since November 6th, the store has found its home at 6 rue Julien Lacroix in the 20th arrondissement. The goal is "to become a part of a vibrant neighborhood, especially here in Ménilmontant, which is thriving and developing well", he emphasizes. At the helm of this unique place is a dynamic team of young people between 22 and 35 years old, including Léopold, Clément, Choucri, Lou, Anna, and Thibaut.
Finding the right film camera for your needs
Founded in 2016, The Analog Club initially started as an Instagram community that showcased photographers by reposting their shots. Through this space, the whole team aims to recreate that community spirit. "It’s certainly a shop an amazing place of sharing and exchange", Léopold says.

You’ll find refurbished and cleaned analog cameras available for purchase, along with film rolls and accessories, the team places a strong emphasis on offering guidance. It’s possible to schedule a free appointment, either online or on-site, during which “we aim to understand what the person is looking for and how they want to use their camera. We take out 5-6 models, they can test them on-site, we explain the differences, and the goal is for every budding photographer to leave with a camera that suits their intended use and the type of photography they want to pursue,” they explain. Whether for beginners or seasoned photographers, The Analog Club is committed to supporting each individual in their practice of the medium.

It’s downstairs, in the basement of the shop, that the laboratory Le Sel, founded by Thibaut, has made its home. Here, you can join a beginner workshop to explore the different processes in detail, from film development to the final print. For the knowledgeable ones, the laboratory and all of its professional equipment are available for self-service once your skills are validated. In short, stepping into The Analog Club means enjoying the most complete experience of film photography.
