Its name surely rings a bell for you: the Mk2 Bibliothèque, located near the François-Mitterrand Library in the 13th district, is one of the most popular cinemas in the capital — 1.5 million viewers in 2025. And it seems like it’s not done captivating an even wider audience! A major renovation has recently kicked off to modernize some of its theaters and create new spaces. It's set to wrap up in 2027, and what’s in store for us is sure to be amazing...

A New Cinema-Hotel in the Capital

The Mk2 Bibliothèque doesn’t do things halfway, and let’s just say that there are plenty of exciting new projects in the works. The star of the show? The creation of a cinema-hotel reminiscent of Hotel Paradiso at Mk2 Nation. This amazing establishment will feature 56 rooms, with big screens and projectors installed so that guests can watch the greatest masterpieces of cinema right from their beds — or even from their bathtubs! This exceptional venue is set to open its doors in September 2027.

A museum dedicated to visual arts

Another exciting project: the creation of a 1500 square meter museum devoted to visual arts. The theme will be explored from all angles, with a special focus on virtual reality. This museum, located in the main building of the Mk2 Bibliothèque, is set to open in September 2026. If all goes well, we only have a few more months to wait to experience the first part of the transformation…
