Halloween has passed, Mariah Carey has kicked off the festivities… And Christmas lights are slowly taking over the capital. After a grand launch on November 22 on the Champs-Élysées (with Cate Blanchett no less), it's now La Villette's turn to prepare to shine. On Saturday, December 5, 2026, the park welcomes Les Allebrilles, a colorful light parade, featuring floats, fireflies and giant puppets.

A reinvented light parade in the heart of La Villette

In early December, La Villette park lights up as night falls. The luminous parade

use Les Allebrilles takes flight on December 5th through the pathways of the green space, brought to life by the Grandes Personnes, a collective that blends visual arts and theatrical expression in Aubervilliers. A magical spectacle that takes over from the traditional lantern parade held there every year. Night becomes a new playground for these colorful chimeras, in a reinvented world with masks, fireflies, floats and giant puppets.

It all begins in a bedroom set up in the open air at the meeting place, in front of the Little Studio, beneath the peristyle of La Villette's Grand Hall. A setting perfect for daydreaming, which sets the tone for this traveling ballet coming to life under the lights. The Allebrilles draw their inspiration from Mexican Alebrijes, dreamlike and colorful papier-mâché chimeras, whose light transmits from one character to the next, creating a truly magical world.

Create your own chimera!

For 45 minutes, the Les Grandes Personnes collective presents fantastic creatures and Christmas magic alongside Parisians. And for those who

Those who wish to be more than spectators and take part in the parade are invited to the "Make Your Own Firefly" workshop on November 14 and 15, 2026. Over two days, the collective invites young and old to create a mask to wear during the December procession. Parents and children from age 7 and up are welcome (by reservation) for €22 and a three-hour workshop to create your very own Christmas chimera!
