Have you ever dreamed of stepping out of the present to take a leap into the past and discover what life was like during another time in history? Well, guess what? It’s totally possible, just for an evening, right in the heart of the capital! Once a month, an absolutely magnificent period ball is held at the Hôtel de la Marine

A free accessible ball

How about a little trip back to the excitement of the 1920s, or even to the time of the French Revolution ? On one Friday each month, the association Carnet de Bals hosts a grand historical ball at the Hôtel de la Marine for a wonderful evening.

In the honor courtyard, accessible for free and without reservation, dancers will perform demonstrations of period dances. The general public is invited to join them for participatory dances. Other demonstrations will take place in the reception halls, which can be accessed after visiting the monument — for this part, a ticket will be necessary. While dressing up is not mandatory, feel free to fully enjoy immersing yourself in the selected historical period that day, and wear the most fitting attire.

Explore history once a month

On Friday, March 27, 2026, the Roaring Twenties will be in the spotlight. Get ready for lively Charleston dances, shimmering fringe dresses, and the vibrant atmosphere!

The festive. In April — on Friday the 24th —, the theme will be dedicated to Louis XV and Louis XVI, while on Friday, May 29th, we will celebrate the Liberation of Paris. On June 26th, it will be all about the Second Empire "Middle East". So, when are you coming?
