Japanese village, food market: Paris will host the largest video game museum in the world

Attention gamers: grab your controllers and get ready, the world temple of video games is coming our way in just a few months. It will be located in Bussy-Saint-Georges, Seine-et-Marne, where this new hotspot of pop culture is set to rise in the heart of a huge gaming complex of 80,000 m². And we have good news and bad news. The bad news: while the opening was initially scheduled for 2026, we’ll have to wait until 2028 to step inside. The good news: our patience will undoubtedly be rewarded as this place promises to be grand…


A much-anticipated monumental project

Two years ago, in just a few months, French YouTuber Tev, who has been based in Japan for over 10 years now, managed to raise more than 2 million euros, far exceeding the initial goal of 50,000 euros.

And we thank all the biggest fans for their generosity, which has allowed specialist Benoit Theveny to imagine a place that truly lives up to the excitement. In two years, he will present the largest collection of consoles in the world, bringing together more than 2200 pieces gathered by collector Ludovic Charles who, lacking space, decided a few years ago to part with these priceless items.


A Journey to the Land of the Rising Sun

Beyond just a presentation of the history of video games, this venue of over 10,000 m² will offer you a true immersion in Japan. On the agenda, a huge food court of over 1,000 m² to discover all the Japanese culinary specialties — the first of its kind!

re in Europe — but also a reproduction of a Japanese village, where the biggest fans can buy mangas, Pokémon cards, figurines…

To enhance the experience, visitors will have the chance to enjoy a room featuring the most famous arcade games, where they can test their skills the old-fashioned way. Plus, there will be a game center showcasing all the latest releases from Japan. Finally, e-sports tournaments, concerts, screenings, and performances will be offered in the brand new Gaming Arena, for some truly grand moments.
