Amateur of rare objects and Japanese culture, on the weekend of March 1st and 2nd, a huge Japanese flea market is taking place just outside Paris. Join us at Cité Fertile, the lively spot that brings joy to Pantin all year round, to hunt for rare finds and vintage Japanese treasures at the Grand Yokocho.

A Celebration of Japanese Culture

Koji Fukushima, a former cyclist turned the best Japanese flea marketeer in Paris, has teamed up with illustrator Paiheme to create the Grand Yokocho, a 100% Japanese event. Referring to the bustling alleyways in Japan filled with izakayas, this Yokocho promises a genuine immersion into a Japanese market, where illustrations, gastronomy, craftsmanship, and, most importantly, a grand Japanese flea market come together. This sixth edition of this vast celebration of the Land of the Rising Sun is making its debut in the 5,500 m² space of Cité Fertile.

A treasure fair from Japan

What's on the agenda for this big flea market? A whole array of stalls where you can hunt and scavenge for little Japanese curiosities and new treasures to proudly display at home. You’ll find kimonos in a variety of colors; kokeshi, traditional wooden dolls; dinnerware, pottery, and ceramics to spruce up your kitchen; vintage advertising signs to decorate your walls; accessories that will delight tea lovers; kakejiku – paintings or calligraphy on silk or paper – to collect; retro magazines for all the vintage lovers; and many other surprises. In short, you got it, this is an event to mark in red on your calendar!
