Celebrate Christmas in a Medieval City
Do you know the city of Provins ? Registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site for its rich heritage, this medieval city in Seine-et-Marne is full of lively shows featuring eagles, knights, and troubadours all year round. And just like every winter, Provins offers a medieval Christmas market to let you experience end-of-year celebrations just like in the days of the knights!

Discover artisans and medieval animations
At the medieval Christmas market in Provins, you'll find unique stalls and rare crafts perfect for the holiday season. For its 2022 edition, the organizing association invites nearly 60 demonstrator artisans to showcase their creations: calligraphers, hat makers, heraldry specialists, blacksmiths, woodworkers… the list goes on!
You can enjoy and even participate in activities for all ages! Fire breathers, jugglers, medieval dance, pony rides at the foot of the César tower… only fighting is prohibited: a prefectural decree from November 23, 2023, bans the carrying and transportation of weapons of categories A, B, C, and D – daggers, swords, axes, bows, crossbows, maces, flails… and their replicas. If the activities themed around the Middle Ages are... As expected, there will also be an ice rink, a medieval ball, a big raffle, and of course, the presence of Santa Claus in front of the town's cultural center. Medieval, yes, but modern all the same !
