In Paris, there are traditions that absolutely nothing could make us break, especially international ones. Among them, the Mexican celebration of Día de los Muertos holds a special place. During this Halloween season, the Jardin d'Acclimatation dons its most beautiful colorful decorations and invites you to celebrate this festival just as it's celebrated in Mexico, right in the heart of Paris. While the event has been running since October 3rd, 2026, it ends on November 1st. So there are just a few days left to enjoy it.

El Día de los Muertos, a Day of Memory and Celebration
Are you familiar with the Jardin d'Acclimatation? Well, get ready to see it completely transformed. And that's not all! The usual attractions at the Jardin d'Acclimatation are also taking a Mexican journey. This includes The Enchanted River, the Maya Labyrinth, and the Samba de Los Muertos. Music will set the rhythm with a mariachi orchestra, Arrieras Somos, made up of ten women only. At 6:30 pm, it's time for Baile del Fuego, a poetic and breathtaking show where traditional costumes and dances intertwine to bring a memorable performance to life. For the foodies, the flavors of Mexico will delight your taste buds! Fajitas, empanadas, nachos, jambalaya, pan de Muerto... Take your pick of what makes your heart sing.
A tradition spanning over 3,000 years
The Día de los Muertos celebration has been inscribed on Unesco's list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity since 2008. But in reality, its origins go back more than 3,000 years, to the heart of Aztec, Mayan and other civilizations. It notably allows honoring the deceased over several weeks through various rituals and offerings.

Rather than being seen as a tragic ending, death in Mexico is perceived as a passage to another stage of life's cycle.
The Jardin d'Acclimatation festival is therefore an exceptional opportunity to (re)discover this tradition. And if you're looking for an idea to make your Halloween evening special, we've obviously got just what you need!
