The Return of a Traditional Festival from India

After three long years of absence, Holi, the Festival of Colors is making its grand return in May. At the Jardin d'Acclimatation, embark on a journey to India for a joyful, positive, and above all, colorful event. Holi is a festival celebrated in India every year for two days. On the first day, a massive fire is lit during the Holika ceremony symbolizing the victory of good over evil. Despite being known as the "festival of sharing," Holi is an occasion for forgiveness. Then, on the second day, people dress in white and roam the streets throwing colored pigments at each other. Each color has its own symbolism. Green represents harmony, red embodies joy and love, and blue refers to vitality. This event is a way to blend colors and wishes by forming a nua.

Get ready for a wonderful and colorful experience filled with hope! Holi, a festival originating from India, arrived in the heart of Paris for the first time in 2017 at the Jardin d’Acclimatation. The last edition in March 2019 saw a staggering attendance of 30,000 people. After a 3-year absence due to the pandemic, Holi is finally making its grand comeback at the Parisian amusement park on May 22nd. So, what can we expect? Dance and Indian chant performances, the royal procession of the Maharajah & Maharani, a concert by the Bollywood Fusion Band, a massive release of colors, food trucks, and even an Indian village offering Kathakali & Bindi makeup booths, handcrafted items, yoga, meditation, and other activities. Get ready for a journey full of surprises, with a thousand and one vibrant colors that will bring joy to our hearts.
