L'Isle-Adam, or the “earthly paradise” of Balzac. Here, beautiful houses, museums, events, and especially the largest river beach in France will enhance your enjoyment. About 30 km north of Paris, this beach along the Oise River is a lovely spot to swim and relax during the summer months. Make sure to also explore the Impressionist Valley, Saint-Martin Church, the Stors Castle and its chapel... A trip that’s truly worth it!

7. The Banks of the Marne

Although swimming is not always allowed, the banks of the Marne offer lovely spots to relax by the water, especially near Joinville-le-Pont or Champigny-sur-Marne.

Loge Island Beach

This small island in the middle of the Marne, located in Neuilly-sur-Marne, has a public beach where swimming is sometimes permitted during the summer months. Check local signage to see if swimming is allowed.

Champigny-sur-Marne Beach

Close to the Tremblay Park in Champigny-sur-Marne, there's a lovely beach along the banks of the Marne where swimming is supervised during the summer. This spot is quite popular among families and water sports enthusiasts.

8. The Ponds of the Chevreuse Valley

Several ponds in the Chevreuse Valley, about thirty kilometers southwest of Paris, provide wonderful places for swimming and relaxing.

9. Meaux Beach 

This is the perfect spot to soak up nature, to the point where some animals might even appear for a drink or to warm up in the sun if you're lucky! You can enjoy a game of mini-golf, bounce on trampolines to let off some steam (or let the kids burn off some energy), or even have a fun soccer match with family or friends to unwind after a busy week. It's a fantastic place to relax, get some exercise, and swim near Paris (just 54 kilometers to be exact).
