The Christmas spirit is slowly settling into the capital, bringing along a delightful array of enchanting lights throughout the city. Among them, we find a good number of department stores that, as every year, reveal a magical world to admire in their windows. Some have already opened their displays (Printemps Haussmann, La Samaritaine…) immersing us in the holiday magic since the beginning of November. And on Wednesday, November 12, it’s the turn of the Galeries Lafayette on Boulevard Haussmann to dazzle us with the unveiling of their windows, and especially, their 16-meter tall XXL Christmas tree.

On the decoration side, the store has entrusted the artistic direction to the illustrator Jeanne Detallante, a renowned artist who has worked with prestigious fashion houses like Miu Miu and Prada. To create this magical universe, Jeanne Detallante delved into the archives of Galeries Lafayette and imagined a uniquely original Christmas tale, which draws its inspiration from thedecorative arts and the heritage of the Galleries. A Christmas workshop like no other, incredibly Parisian and full of nostalgia, found all over the store. Among mischievous elves and gifts generously wrapped in red ribbons, the spectacular displays transform into true living tales, taking us first into Santa's offices and then to a grand festive banquet.
A grand inauguration
Join us with Clara Luciani to kick off the festivities at dusk, starting with the lighting of the displays (at 6 PM), followed by the reveal of the giant Christmas tree under the dome (at 6:15 PM), all accompanied by sound and lights. A spectacular tree standing 16 meters tall, weighing 560 kg in ribbons, and adorned with 8 km of twinkling lights, all beautifully designed by Jeanne Detallante.

To top it all off, Galeries Lafayette invites you to the 3rd floor of its Haussmannian store at 6:30 PM for a special showcase by Clara Luciani. It's also a great opportunity to head up to the heights of the store to discover the new rooftop ice skating rink, offering breathtaking views of all of Paris.
