The Night of Museums is approaching quickly, and just like every year, we’ve put our detective skills to the test to find you some super fun plans. Among our recommendations for 2025, there’s a fantastic murder party organized in a magnificent monument in the Île-de-France. Head over to the Château de Rentilly for an evening full of mystery. On the agenda, an incredible investigation that will let you step into the shoes of Sherlock Holmes for the night.
A Castle with a Twist
Before we dive into the event itself, let’s take a moment to focus on the history of this castle, especially on the changes it has gone through over time. Indeed, while the building was constructed in the early 16th century, its successive owners have not stopped transforming it,

Today, the monument, transformed into a contemporary art center since 2014, is entirely covered with mirrored glasses and stainless steel, giving it a futuristic look that resembles a spaceship in St.ar Wars. A kind of giant mirror that has drawn heavy criticism from local nature protection groups, who see it as an absolutely deadly construction, especially for birds.

However, regardless of its exterior appearance, what we’re really excited about here is what the institution has in store for the next Night of the Museums, which will take place on May 17th. Throughout the day, the art center will offer cultural activities centered around some of the exhibited works, as well as quirky tours of the castle, revealing all its secrets.

It will be starting at 9 PM when the highlight of the show, a gigantic murder party takes place, during which you'll get to lead the investigation. What's the goal of the evening? Uncover who killed Robert, the housekeeper, and stole the brand new novel from Professor Delirium, which hides a USB key with many secrets. Luckily, a professional secret agent will be there to guide you throughout the night.
