The Editor

You will have understood it, this summer, the outdoor cinemas are flourishing in the capital. The newest addition to the list? It's "La Toile sous les Étoiles" at the Château de Vincennes, which will take place from August 24th to 26th. The program includes a fairy tale setting, lawn chairs on the green grass, cinema gems projected on a giant screen, and all kinds of food trucks, all under the stars and for free! Does that interest you? Here are the 3 films scheduled for this 2023 edition. Thursday, August 24th: "La Princesse de Montpensier" We first dive into a period film (and that's my thing) with "La Princesse de Montpensier" by Bertrand Tavernier. This film, adapted from Madame de La Fayette's work, takes us back to the period of the religious wars through a love story between Henri de Guise (Gaspard Ulliel) and Mademoiselle de Méré (Mélanie Thierry), who is forced to marry the prince of Montpe.Torn and tormented by the Duke of Anjou (Raphaël Personnaz). We also follow the close relationship between the young princess and her tutor, Count de Chabannes (Lambert Wilson), at the Château de Champigny.

Friday, August 25th: Forrest Gump

We continue with one of the greatest classics of cinema, Forrest Gump. We dive into several decades of American history, from 1940 to the end of the 20th century, all through the simple, pure, and endearing perspective of Forrest (Tom Hanks). From the yellow school bus to the Vietnam War, ping-pong championships, and the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Zemeckis' film is a true modern epic.

Saturday, August 26: 9 Months Stretch

For the last day of the festival, let's watch an Albert Dupontel film that we love, 9 Months Stretch. We follow Ariane Felder (Sandrine Kiberlain), a judge with narrow-minded morals and a true confirmed single woman. And then, surprise! She gets pregnant. But the most surprising thing is that the paternity test reveals that the father is Bob (Albert Dupontel), a criminal pursued for a sordid assault. Ariane, who doesn't remember anything, will try to unravel all of this...
