If you've been hesitating to start knitting for years because 1) You want to pay tribute to your grandmother 2) A handmade scarf is undeniably cool 3) Having needles in your bag for self-defense can always come in handy, well, we’ve found the perfect place for you. So, head over to Cortado Café.

We know that in recent years, the capital has seen a surge of enthusiasm for hands-on activities, which were sometimes considered a bit outdated. Proof of this is that we've witnessed the opening of dozens and dozens of cafés and workshops where you can learn to make ceramics, tufting, cookies, bags, basically a little bit of everything and anything. And we think that's pretty cool. The latest addition to this list is a super friendly café in the 3rd arrondissement, which invites you every Wednesday to join a 100% free knitting class, with needles and yarn included!


A Family Story

The knitting nights at this Parisian café are a family affair. On one side, we have Tom, co-founder of the Cortado Café with his...

brother and his beautiful sister-in-law, but also of Charmi Wool, a clothing brand that offers 100% French wool creations handmade. On the other hand, Perrine Delfortrie, Tom's mother, takes care of giving classes and offers her precious advice to anyone willing to listen.

Let’s just say that for them, knitting is in their blood, since Perrine was born with needles in her hand, and Charmi, the name of their knitting brand, is actually the name of the family textile house in Gérardmer. Together, they share their love for creativity, sharing, good food, and moments of relaxation by hosting this friendly gathering every Wednesday evening.


A moment of total disconnection

And let's just say that the formula has everything to please, as once a week, they invite anyone who wants to come together over a drink or a shared meal (or both!) to knit away and create the piece of their dreams. No worries if you're a beginner, all skill levels are welcome and, even better, you can also Yarn and needles are provided to help you bring all your wildest ideas to life.
