To make your autumn and winter evenings less gloomy, we know the perfect activity: the biggest festival of Chinese lanterns and light shows in Île-de-France, which comes to life at the Thoiry Castle. What has made the festival a success for the past 6 years is surely the quality of the scenography and the careful selection of music that accompanies the visitor. Starting at the end of October, the Asian flora and fauna will be enhanced by gigantic structures, blending animals, insects, and all kinds of plants.
There will be a special focus on Mongolia, with costumes and iconic yurts from the country. The highlight of the show: a majestic temple with 8...A colossal spectacle awaits you at the heart of the gardens, with a towering structure that is several meters high. It's a grandiose show where you can discover Asia, its territories, and their treasures. There will be over 2500 lanterns, which is 500 more than last year. So come and explore Asia's wonders! Don't miss out on this joyful experience.
An energy-demanding event?
Lights everywhere, it's beautiful, it shines, but does the festival's energy footprint risk skyrocketing? In an effort to manage its environmental impact and reduce energy consumption, the Thoiry ZooSafari has decided to use low-energy LED bulbs, which are 10 times less energy-intensive than traditional bulbs. Lighting times are also optimized, resulting in 30% energy savings: simple and essential green initiatives worth applauding!
