For a few years now, the Grand Paris Express has been all the buzz! The plan includes 4 metro lines running all around the capital, connecting suburban towns and making it easier to travel between them and to the center of Paris. While the 15 is set to open next year, we’ll have to wait another 2 years before we see the first trains running on line 16. In the meantime, you’ll have a unique opportunity to discover one of the future stations and check out the progress of the work, for free! This amazing event is happening this Saturday, at Chelles-Gournay station.
A Transformed Construction Site
Soberly named “KM12”, this day is part of an initiative led by the Society of Major Projects to infuse culture into the Grand Paris Express. Several events titled « KM » have been organized since the beginning of the projects. And for this 12th edition, it's at the Chelles-Gournay station (accessible by RER E or Transilien P) that you have an appointment this weekend to dive into the behind-the-scenes of the implementation of line 16.

Get ready for a full afternoon of discovering the construction site in a whole new way, featuring exclusive visits! The collective Studio Animal & Cabasanroque will take over the future station with the stunning light and sound installation Transit, which you can enjoy throughout the festivities. The artist Pierre Delavie will also showcase two monumental works at the site: The Hummingbird Crane and Cassandra, in collaboration with lyrical singers.
Countless Activities
To top off this schedule, between 2 PM and 10 PM, you can enjoy free access to majorette shows and dances. The band from the Orchestre International du Vetex will also join us to bring music and joy! You’ll even see roller-skating creatures around!Stroll through the venue and get enchanted! You can even learn to master the basics of line dancing in a workshop led by Jacquelyn Elder, Taos Bertrand, and Kristen. To top it all off, there will be a lineup of DJ sets throughout the day. And of course, we can't forget the most important part, the food, featuring a giant barbecue and accessible food trucks all throughout the event.
