Twenty-one artists have collaborated to dress the green walkway of the Sophoras that crosses the Pantin cemetery with works that are more amazing than the next. Amidst the silence, ancient trees, and gravestones, we will soon find a free and accessible exhibition spanning one kilometer.

An art gallery among the graves

Starting from the end of May, in the Pantin cemetery, you will be able to discover more than 40 unexpected works, resonating with the surroundings they inhabit. The aim of the cemetery, as well as the exhibition, is to strengthen the bond between the memory of those who have passed and those who remain through art and nature. These installations utilize the unique atmosphere of this place to give more depth to their message.

Among the most whimsical installations, there is an interactive eye nestled in a stone.

the eyes are fixed on you, some charred wooden bats hiding in the trees and visible only at night thanks to the sound of tiny bells, but also a wax death crown and the images streamed live from the webcam installed on Andy Warhol's grave in Pennsylvania.

The collective that transforms abandoned places

The crazy spark behind this project is POUSH: a collective created in 2020 that supports artistic creation, based in Aubervilliers and Clichy. Today, this association boasts 270 artists from over 30 different nationalities and offers a innovative programming that is accessible to everyone, for free.

POUSH is all about ambitious projects in the form of huge shared workshops. It opens the door to artistic experimentation and sometimes sees the city as a blank canvas. Our favorites are its transitional development projects, where they invest in abandoned spaces while waiting for their new purpose, like we saw with the old L.T. Piver perfume factory in Aubervilliers.

It’s a .an organization that really works to ensure that everyone can practice their art and that everyone recognizes it. That’s why visits by experts will take place from Thursday to Saturday, from 2 PM to 5:45 PM, and that the artists behind the works will regularly come to discuss their art with visitors.
