Next weekend, a major event in French sports will take place: the European Beer Pong Championship. Part of the Foire de Paris, this seemingly quirky competition will get your heart racing on May 2nd and 3rd, 2026.

Two Days to Give It Your All

If beer pong only reminds you of your high school days filled with lukewarm beer in the afternoons and headaches in the mornings, this championship takes things very seriously. The organization provides official equipment and the rules are strictly outlined on their website. No more valid reasons to unleash your frustration on that cousin who leans over the table!

On the agenda is two days of intense competition featuring singles, doubles, and a nations cup. Saturday is dedicated to solo matches that kick off at 11 AM with the final at 5:30 PM. Sunday follows with...

rc;my schedule for the doubles competition. The Nations Cup, on the other hand, will be played over two days, with a final that promises to be epic on Sunday at 5 PM.

More than 100 people from over 15 different countries are expected. Besides an unwavering pride and a great story for family lunches, the winners will share a cash prize of 5,000 euros, just like that.

Just a little reminder for you, just in case

We thought we’d give you a quick recap of the official rules so you never have to argue about the placement of cups at a party again.

A game of beer pong is played with 10 cups arranged in a pyramid shape, touching each other. It’s luck that determines which team goes first. Each turn consists of at least two balls, one for each player, and each throw can’t last more than 10 seconds. If you succeed, then the team keeps the turn until they miss. Don’t forget that you can only ask the opposing team to rearrange their cups when they have 6, 3, or 1 cup left to re-form a pyramid.

Alright, you’ve been waiting for it: yes, your elbow can go beyond the edge of the table, but your body must not touch it at all. But be careful, starting from…Now it’s getting interesting! If the two balls land in the same cup, you only remove one cup, not two. But if the ball touches the table before going into a cup, the shot counts double. It's a super strategy, but you really need to be lucky: once the ball has touched the table, the opposing team can defend with their hand.

In any case, now that you know the rules, we can tell you that there are still spots available to sign up for the competition. Good luck!
