Spring is undeniably our favorite season! Why? For the longer days, the weather getting milder, and the parks and gardens that turn green and bloom. Our must-visit spot: Domaine de Sceaux in Hauts-de-Seine. In this park, classified as a historical monument and sprawling over 184 hectares, you can enjoy the arrival of this new season while strolling among the cherry blossoms.

Several hundred cherry trees to admire in April
You may have heard of Hanami, the Japanese tradition that celebrates the cherry blossom (sakura). You don't need to travel around the globe to honor this ancient and fabulous custom. Not far from Paris, the Domaine de Sceaux offers everyone a chance to dive into the Japanese atmosphere throughout the month of April. It is on the plain of Châtenay that two magnificent groves stand tall. To the south, visitors can admire beautiful white flowers, while to the north, they will discover 144 Japanese cherry trees adorned with pink blossoms.

All through the month of April, the park is getting ready to celebrate Hanami. Besides leisurely strolls, the Domaine de Sceaux offers three weekends of fun activities. On April 5th and 6th, 12th and 13th, and 19th and 20th, you can enjoy drum concerts, Japanese tales, haikus, and various workshops for children under the Origadôme in the Châtenay plain. From March 29th to April 27th, the exhibition Aurore, Joy and Renewal will be held in the grand salon of the château. On April 12th, get ready for the show Amaterasu, Goddess of the Rising Sun, while on April 13th, the audience can witness a demonstration of ikebana, this traditional art of floral arrangement. On the same day, free workshops for origami and Japanese calligraphy will be organized. No doubt about it, in April, the Domaine des Sceaux is bursting with joy!the place not to be missed, whether you’re solo, with friends, or family!
