A magical Christmas market is set up in a lovely castle near Paris

And for good reason, this artisanal and authentic market takes place in a 17th-century chateau classified as a historical monument. 60 exhibitors in the heart of a chateau

In Essonne, within the Departmental Estate of Chamarande – which boasts a whopping 98 hectares – ponds, canals, and an exceptional chateau blend beautifully in a delightful setting. It is in this absolutely wonderful space, especially in the two courtyards of the Chamarande chateau, that the Made in Essonne Christmas Market takes place each year. This market gathers more than sixty local artisans and producers, offering us the best of their region.

What's on the agenda? Stalls featuring delicious local products like terrines, flours, oils, jams, and honey, as well as artisanal pastries and producers of beers, whiskies, and gin that showcase the Essonne region. Alongside them, you'll also find unique handmade creations, including soaps, textiles, ceramics, mosaics, stationery, and jewelry… In short, a treasure trove of handcrafted gems waiting to be discovered!

Workshops and tastings for everyone

In addition to being the perfect spot to find year-end gifts, the Christmas market at the Chamarande castle also takes a educational approach and offers a series of creative workshops and tastings. It’s a chance to uncover all the manufacturing secrets and recipes that contribute to the quality of made in Essonne products, as well as to engage with local artisans.
