Literature and painting are two fields that are intrinsically linked, and the Musée d'Orsay is excited to show us just that. On Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 5 PM to 9:30 PM, this famous cultural establishment in Paris will bring together around thirty authors alongside some of the most renowned paintings it houses, as part of the "Writers’ Day." The goal of such an evening: to create a resonance between the artworks and the words, through readings by these contemporary writers.

A total of 32 authors will be present this evening. Each of them has carefully selected a few pages from their own texts, which they will read within the museum, surrounded by various artworks. Among them, you'll find Christine Angot, Anne Berest, David Foenkinos, Lola Lafon, Camille Laurens, Véronique Olmi, Éric Reinhardt, Alice Zeniter, and many more. After each reading, there will be a chance to meet the authors and get their books signed.

An evening organized in the spirit of the "Day of Painters"
This "Day of Writers" echoes the "Day of Painters" that took place on September 19, 2024, thanks to Thomas Lévy-Lasne, and brought together 80 artists. These artists showcased their works in various rooms of the museum, allowing the audience to interact with them and discover the evolution of the art world. This time, let’s enjoy a delightful blend of art and literature... Let the words carry you and make you feel alive!
