With her novel The Ballerina of Kiev, released in August 2024, Stéphanie Perez takes us back nearly three years to the heart of a war-torn Ukraine during the early days of the conflict. Here, we discover the story of Dmytro, a principal dancer of the National Opera of Kiev, and Svitlana, his wife, also a principal dancer. Both committed to the survival of their country, these two individuals, previously focused solely on their bodies and their art, uncover resilience, solidarity, but also fear and death.
On the other hand, Jacques Gamblin shares a poignant testament to his relationship with his mother in Mother on the Horizon, released on January 9, 2025, where filial love intertwines with delicate poetry. A heart-wrenching tribute.
